The Cadillac Formula 1 team has revealed the unique paint job it will run during its first pre-season action in Barcelona later this month. The American outfit unveiled the special test livery on January 13 at General Motors’ newly opened global headquarters in Detroit, marking an important early moment in Cadillac’s introduction to the Formula 1 grid.

This temporary scheme is set to make its track debut during the Shakedown Week at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, scheduled from January 26 to 30, where all teams will carry out early testing ahead of the 2026 campaign. Unlike the definitive racing colours, this design was created specifically for development work and will be swapped out for the official livery on February 8, ahead of Cadillac’s full season launch.

The paint-work was developed through a collaborative effort between the Cadillac F1 design team and GM’s global design studio, blending style and function. It features a primarily monochrome palette with bold logo placement, and visually distorts aerodynamic details — a common tactic in F1 testing to conceal performance-related features before competitive action begins.

The reveal in Detroit also included a showcase of the car wrapped in its test colours, which will remain on display at the Detroit Auto Show until January 25. This glimpse helps build excitement for Cadillac’s first steps in Formula 1 — an entry eagerly anticipated by fans and the wider motorsport community as the team prepares for its debut at the Australian Grand Prix on March 8, 2026.
